A good hockey player plays where the puck is. A great hockey player plays where the puck is going to be.
How will people with few resources and limited means be able to afford the upfront housing costs?
We approach that question from a different angle. Our role is creating multiple opportunities for conversations to take place believing that, as people meet others, form healthy relationships, and may wish to consider home sharing, housing that is not currently on the market may surface, including developing housing co-ops as described in Solutions.
Homeowners with spare bedrooms may be more willing to consider housemates with confidence knowing that there is a process in place and an organization offering training and support increases the likelihood of achieving a harmonious environment.
In conjunction with Anna Marie Pluhar, utilizing her book and workbook, Sharing Housing – finding and keeping good housemates, we will offer training that covers the basics of successful home sharing.
